Aircraft Charter to Sable Island

Horse beside Sable Station

We at Sable Aviation feel privileged to provide year-round fixed wing aircraft support to Sable Island, a delicate crescent of sand 300 km south-east of Halifax, Nova Scotia. There is no airstrip on the island, so our short takeoff and landing (STOL) BN2A Britten-Norman Islander aircraft lands on the 10 km long, sandy expanse of the island's south beach.

Since Sable Island is a National Park Reserve, Parks Canada has sole control over all flights to the island, including scheduling.

To avoid interfering with station operations, fixed wing visitor flights are generally scheduled for weekends, with Saturday being the primary visitation day and Sunday being the backup. Guests must be available to travel on both days.

All of our tourist flights to Sable Island are sold on a per seat basis, with 6-8 seats available on any given flight. The flight dates for 2024 are listed on our FAQ page, along with details on booking, payment and the most common questions people ask about the Sable trip. Please read through the information on the FAQ page before e-mailing us your seat request.
